SGSD Lab Undergraduate Conference Grant
Introduction
This initiative enables our undergraduate students to participate in academic activities alongside our faculty members, both in China and internationally. The funding for this program was made possible by an anonymous donation received in 2025, aimed at fostering research talent and enhancing academic exposure.
Eligibility
-
The scheme is exclusively for Sociology undergraduate students who will present a paper (solely authored or coauthored) at regular panel sessions, poster sessions, workshops, forums, or roundtables in conferences. Faculty members who extend these invitations are responsible for submitting the applications on behalf of their students.
-
Each student can only apply once for each academic year.
-
Students who have secured external funding for the same purpose are not eligible for departmental support. Additionally, receiving financial assistance from multiple sources for attending the same activity is not permitted.

Each student can receive a maximum of HK$12,000 per trip for eligible expenses related to attending academic activities in China or overseas. Eligible expenses include:
-
Conference registration fees
-
Economy-class air tickets
-
Inter-city transportation

This document can be a full conference paper or a concise summary of the full conference paper, an extended abstract, or a short paper formatted according to the conference guidelines. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
